This is an image from a romantic engagement photo shoot at the Lion Rock Farm (https://www.lionrockfarmevents.com) in Sharon, CT. I am posting it to explain my photography approach during an engagement photo shoot. My favorite lenses are the Canon 200mm f2, the Zeiss Otus 100mm 1.4, and the Canon RF 50mm 1.2. This image was captured with the Canon 85mm 1.2 lens.
An engagement photo shoot is also a chance for the couple to get to know their photographer better. This can help establish a good rapport and ensure that the couple feels comfortable and at ease on the wedding day. After talking with the couple and discussing the details of the wedding, we felt relaxed together. This is shown in their genuine smile and candid gesture. They are positioned in front of a stunning backdrop of the rustic barn of the Lion Rock Farm. The setting sun creates a beautiful orange and pink hue in the sky, casting a warm glow over the couple’s faces and highlighting their features.
The woman has her head resting on the man’s chest, her arms wrapped around his waist. He is holding her gently, one hand on her back. The couple seems to be lost in their own world, enjoying the moment of intimacy and connection that they are sharing.
The scene around them is tranquil, with trees and hills in the distance, adding to the peaceful and romantic atmosphere. The light is soft and diffused, creating a dreamy and ethereal feeling to the image. I love the way the image exudes love, intimacy, and a sense of connection between the couple.
An engagement photo shoot is a wonderful way for a couple to capture and celebrate their love and commitment to each other. It provides an opportunity for the couple to practice posing and getting comfortable in front of the camera. This can help alleviate any nerves or awkwardness that may come up on the wedding day.
