Sometimes an image of a parent looking at the child may tell us so much about the relationship and the feelings of that moment. On a wedding day there are a few important interactions when the wedding photojournalist expects to capture such an image. Of course, this photographic attitude requires continuous effort to look for images. I have to be concentrated in order to see and capture images that are happening around me or further away.
This is one of my favorite images from the wedding of Britt and Scott at the Interlaken Inn. I love the way the father smiles which allows the viewer to interpret his emotional state. As I use three camera bodies with three prime lenses during the ceremony, this image was captured with a Canon 35mm 1.4 prime lens. A prime lens gives the photographer the artistic freedom and power to isolate the subject and emphasize the emotions.
